Biography

Alyssa Whitford is a former elementary teacher and current assistant professor of literacy and social studies education at Hope College in Holland, Michigan. Her research interests include the integration of social studies and literacy to teach social issues such as gender with elementary children. She is also interested in student perceptions of the social world and how they are impacted by society and education.
