Maribel Santiago is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Teacher Education at Michigan State University.  She also holds an appointment in the Department of History.  After obtaining a dual B.A. in History and Chicana/o Studies, and a M.Ed. from UCLA, Dr. Santiago taught high school social studies in Watts, a neighborhood of Los Angeles.  She also earned an M.A. in History and a Ph.D. in Curriculum Studies and Teacher Education, both from Stanford University.
