Biographies
Keith Barton is Professor of Curriculum and Instruction, and Adjunct Professor of History, at Indiana University, where he prepares elementary teachers and educational researchers. His scholarship focuses on history, human rights, and the social sciences as preparation for civic participation.
Alex Cuenca is Associate Professor of Curriculum and Instruction and Associate Dean for Accreditation at Indiana University. His research focuses on preparing social studies teachers to support students’ civic development, with emphasis on inquiry, field experiences, and teacher education pedagogy. He has held leadership roles in national education organizations and previously taught social studies in Miami, Florida.
