Daniel G. Krutka, PhD is a former classroom social studies teacher and education professor. His research interests concern intersections of technology, education, and democracy. He co-edited the book Keywords in the Social Studies: Concepts and Conversations to be published by Peter Lang Publishing in 2018. Dan met Michael through his participation, and later since 2012 as a board member, of the non-profit #sschat network (RIP). They both liked talking with people so much that they started recording it as a podcast!

Michael K. Milton teaches high school social studies in Massachusetts. Teaching is a grand experiment and Michael strives to make learning relevant and to further develop his students’ critical thinking skills. Over the years he has served on the Content Committee at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute creating opportunities for students to experience the US Senate, co-moderated an online social studies community #sschat. He has blogged semi-regularly on michaelkmilton.com (although it has “been a bit”). His lessons have been published in the Ohio Social Studies Review and highlighted in NCSS’s Social Education and Bloomberg BusinessWeek.
